We are the second oldest Chapter in Illinois. We were formed before the Grand Chapter of Illinois, receiving our charter from the state of New York. We have 115 members and meet at 7:30 PM on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month. The Tuesday Evening Club originated in 1936 as a sewing club knows as N.F.S.S. (not for self alone). We did philanthropic work in our community. In 1938 we reorganized to the only Junior Woman’s Club that ever existed in Prophetstown. We withdrew our membership because of age limitations in 1953 and reorganized as the Tuesday Evening Club. Helen Gentz is the club’s only original Charter Member. The current membership is small but “mighty”.
