The First Congregational Church at 218 E. 3rd St. is presently being served by Pastor Becky Nystrom. Church phone is 815-537-2094. The first Congregational Church worships together each Sunday at 9:30 AM, Memorial Day Through Labor Day. And 10:30 AM the rest of the year. Sunday School and Confirmation classes are offered for preschool through eighth grade. Women’s Fellowship and Martha Circle meet monthly. Founded in 1895, The First Congregational Church participated in a merger with the Christian Churches in 1931, became a member of the United Church of Christ in the 1960’s and in 1987 united with the Lyndon Congregational Church. The church is a Christian Fellowship which operates with a congregational form of church government. 

A family fellowship for all ages, the Advent Christian Church exists to help people develop a vital relationship with God by receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and to grow in their faith through vibrant worship, study of God’s Word and prayer. Our church is particularly focused on ministering to children and parents, and is know for its music ministry. Services include Sunday School at 9 AM, worship at 10:15 AM and midweek fellowship groups for adults, kids, mothers, and youth. First Lutheran
is located at 300 W. 3rd St. The Rev. Greg Olson serves our vibrant congregation which has been serving the Prophetstown area for 120 years. We offer an educational program for children ages three through high school. Adult classes and Bible studies are also offered Youth groups serve 6-8 graders, and High Schoolers. A parish nurse is part of our staff. Sunday worship (9AM) blends traditional and contemporary styles. Together the people of First strive to be welcoming and caring in the name of Jesus Christ. St. Catherine’s Catholic Church
is located at 308 E. 3rd St., Prophetstown. Phone 815-537-2077 to reach the Rectory where Father Zdzislaw Francis Wawryszuk resides as parish priest. Week-end masses are celebrated at 6 PM on Saturday evening and 10:30 AM on Sunday morning. Holy Day masses vary. CCD classes meet on Sunday morning at 9 AM during the school year. Organizations include the St. Catherine’s Women’s Society, the Catholic Youth Organizations, as well as Elizabeth Ministry. The church and the hall are handicapped accessible by elevator.

 

United Methodist Church is lead by Pastor Insun Yoon.  The United Methodist cares for us. We are a congregation with people’s success in mind. Everything we do is geared toward helping people find, sustain, and fulfill God’s dream in their lives. From the Saturday night NEW BEGINNINGS program to the Sunday morning classes for all ages, we believe the promise in Jeremiah 29:11: “I know my plans for you, says the Lord. They are to prosper and not to hurt. They are for a future and a hope”. Youth are invited to join our growing youth group determined to be “world changers”. In Christ our desire is to help each other strengthen our marriages, families and all other vital relationships through devotion to Jesus Christ.

 


Leon Methodist Church celebrated its 100th anniversary in the same church and same location. Years ago the church was called “The church by the side of the road.”  The congregation holds regular church services at 10:45 AM every Sunday and Sunday School at 9:30 AM. Lyndon United Methodist Church was organized in 1841, in an old store building.  The present building was built in 1884.  The same pastor serves the Leon Church.  The Church service is at 9 a.m. and church school is at 10:15 a.m. The current pastor is Andy Ploenzke,  phone--815 778 3751.  Email:  ly_leumc@cin.net. Loraine United Methodist Church is a rural congregation of about 120 members and average attendance of 110. We are family-oriented with Sunday School classes for all ages at 9:15 and worship at 10:30 AM each Sunday. June through Labor Day we add an 8 AM service. Senior youth fellowship meets Sunday at 6:30 PM and Adventure Club for kindergarten through sixth graders of offered at 6:30 PM Wednesdays, October through March. Our facility is handicapped accessible and air-conditioned. We are 10 miles east of Joslin, one mile north of Rt 92. Visitors are expected!
